Job Description

The Travel Operations Consultant is responsible for responding to customer enquiries, supplier enquiries, System & GDS management.

Some of the daily tasks of the position are as follows:

  • Responsible for providing support and guidance to our customers.
  • Assist in the management of all bookings & ticketing in the most efficient and cost-effective manner for the business – I.E. queue management, schedule changes, cancellations, exchanges, re-issues, debit memos, e-ticketing, upgrades, name corrections, etc.
  • Daily operational tasks such as hotel reallocations and reservation changes.
  • Answer enquiries and assist suppliers.
  • Provide best possible customer service to customers (internal and external) all the while maintaining the integrity of the company and the company’s airline partners and suppliers.
  • Exceed the customers’ expectations through excellent customer service and attention to detail.
  • Providing management with feedback on future improvements.
  • Perform other work-related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications and skills for the position:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Amadeus. (Amadeus and Sabre experience preferable)
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, BSP.
  • Work well with others, work well independently, be highly motivated to achieve set goals, well organised, detail oriented.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to tactfully deal with difficult customers over the phone and in writing.
  • Possess a courteous, positive, team-player attitude.
  • Strong desire to consistently exceed customer expectations while providing personalised service.
  • Proactive, take charge attitude in resolving problems with creative solutions.

Working Hours for the position: Full Time

  • Monday - Friday 09.00 - 18.00
  • Supplemental Emergency support as per agreed schedule: evenings and weekends
