Job Title: Account Manager (UK Luxury Hotels & Cottages)

Hours: Full-time, Monday - Friday

Reporting to: Chief Product Officer

Location: Hybrid working - 3 days in Warehouse offices in Shoreditch, London EC2 and Home-based.

We are currently on the lookout for a talented, proactive, and commercially focused Account Managers (various levels), for our High-end luxury hotels & cottages portfolio, to join the Properties Team. The core focus of the role is to develop and optimise both business and revenue with existing property partners. The role will require previous experience in a similar role within the UK travel industry and you’ll have a natural talent for building as well as maintaining a network of relationships with our suppliers. You will be responsible for ensuring ambitious sales and revenue targets are achieved using your exceptional negotiation skills and sales techniques.  This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is keen to become a pivotal part of a high-performing, results-based team in a business that is a leader in our field with ambitious plans for growth.

Responsibilities 

  • You will be responsible for improving performance at a property level. Being the first point of contact for the existing portfolio of properties, to help improve their performance and conversion with the ultimate goal of achieving higher revenue.
  • Securing exclusive packages, availability, and competitive rates aligned to customer demand. 
  • Work closely with sales team leaders to resolve any barriers to booking, be the main point of all escalations for issues concerning properties, i.e. customer complaints, low availability issues, price discrepancies etc.
  • Regularly negotiate commission rates to improve margin, and deliver commercial growth.
  • Keeping up to date with competitor and industry activity to ensure we are constantly producing attractive and competitive offerings.
  • Visit existing properties to ensure standards are inline with PetsPyjamas brand and help improve B2B relationships.
  • Advise and guide properties to ensure they are inline with the PetsPyjamas ethos and truly understand what “dog-friendly” means to our customers with a focus to help increase dog-friendly rooms. 
  • Manage, develop, and increase the properties connected via various third-party channel management systems, including, setting up new connections, any queries or issues, and monitoring working correctly. 
  • Provide engaging product briefing and product training for the sales team on new properties/destinations which positively influence the portfolio’s performance. 
  • Provide data driven marketing reports, both internally to key stakeholders in the business and externally to property partners. 
  • Working closely with marketing to build key campaigns by negotiating packages with relevant partners to maximise campaign results. 
  • Improve margin by securing marketing spend through enhanced partnerships and multi channel marketing campaigns, through proactive approaches.
  • Reporting to property partners on their performance monthly/Quarterly, as well as reporting on any additional marketing campaigns. 


Experience and skills required:

  • At least 2 years, of experience in a similar role, preferably within an online travel agent and an existing network of UK accommodation providers. 
  • You will be from a product background and have an understanding of hotel distribution, rates and inventory management. 
  • Brilliant geographical knowledge of the UK. 
  • Experience in negotiation with key decision makers would be a bonus.
  • An Analytical approach and with a data driven mindset combined with strong commercial insight and attention to detail
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication and presentations skills via email, telephone and face to face. 
  • Taking ownership in driving results and a strong desire to exceed targets.
  • Effective prioritisation, initiative, time management and self motivation skills.
  • Comfortable working independently whilst having a collaborative approach working alongside different departments with individuals of differing level of knowledge. 
  • Ideally, have your own car and driving license with a willingness to travel to our hotels for face to face meetings. 
  • Familiarity with Google Drive, Gmail, in-depth Excel, and ability to learn new systems quickly.
