Jacobs Media Group is Europe’s largest b2b media company within the Travel and Hospitality sectors. The company is at an exciting junction having recently won the 2020 Queen’s Enterprise award for International expansion.

This particular role sits within the Group Business Development team which specialises in introducing international clients to the UK market through bespoke solutions and programmes and works closely with destinations on B2B communications and events.

This including hosting the LATA Expo trade show on behalf of the Latin America Travel Association and the Experience Africa Trade show on behalf of African Travel Association, as well as developing the newly launched Global Travel Week London and Global Travel Week Middle East.

We have an exciting opportunity for an articulate, creative and enthusiastic team player. You will have experience in sales both face to face and over the telephone. This sales role will be selling event sponsorships and media solutions to travel and tourism businesses. The ability to build rapport with potential and existing customers is vital. Experience within exhibitions and or the travel industry would be an advantage and previous experience of working with tourist offices and destinations would be extremely valuable.

Scope: UK and international

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generating new business for events organised by JMG
  • Building the customer base from a renewal and new business perspective
  • Working very closely with the marketing and events team to deliver on promises
  • Innovating to create new opportunities for clients
  • Working towards sales targets with value led/ consultative selling techniques across a portfolio of products is core to this role as well as the ability to adapt to the changing requirements.

The candidate:

This position requires a self-motivated and confident sales professional who can demonstrate:

  • Strong sales experience in a relevant environment (networking events, media, travel, etc)
  • Experience of working with or selling to international destinations
  • Specific experience in exhibition sales and track record in this sector
  • Ability to travel long-haul and internationally frequently and over long periods of time
  • Experience in consultative selling and objection handling Determined and mature approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Creativity and initiative in a sales environment
  • The candidate will be a self-motivated team player with a determined and mature approach
