My South West London based client are seeking a Qualified Accountant to join their team as Head of Finance.

The role:

The purpose of this role is to provide a comprehensive financial support service to the CEO, Shareholders and Commercial Management to run a profitable and growing business.

  • With CFO, Develop multi-year business plans and budgets comprising Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, Capital Expenditure and Cash Flow statements.
  • Oversee the production of Management account s by Management accountant
  • Ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements set by the CAA and ABTA and IATA, including but not limited to the annual renewal process and monthly reporting
  • Work with bond providers to ensure the maintenance of licences.
  • Monitor and Review the production of Statutory Accounts and liaise with the external Auditors.
  • Develop and monitor multiple currency hedging strategies, particularly for the USD.
  • With CFO, Monitor cashflow patterns and optimise financial returns from surplus bank balances.
  • Liaise and maintain good commercial relationships with Banks, FX partners and Credit Card Merchant Service providers.
  • Developing existing systems to improve the accurate flow of information through the complex travel business.
  • Able to carry out financial appraisal of any new business development opportunities.
  • Control all statutory requirements, taxation, audit, legal affairs regarding operations, premises and structure to ensure legal compliance and smooth running of operations.
  • Review day to day accounts function, including timely payment of suppliers and receipt of sales revenues.
  • Prepare legal returns (VAT, PAYE, National Insurance)
  • Liaise with pension scheme administrators on matters relating to the Pension plan.
  • Oversee and approve monthly payroll.
  • Liaising with the landlords and other general management functions.
  • Responsible for all insurance renewals.
  • Liaise with IT Support Company and staff regarding IT and Telecoms technical issues. Negotiate outsourced support contracts for IT and telecoms.

About you:

  • ACCA/CIMA or similar Accounting qualification
  • Minimum 10 years' experience of management and financial accounts
  • Good communication, organising and influencing skills
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Sound knowledge of Tour Operating and regulatory compliance.
  • Good all round understanding of latest technologies
  • Team management ability
  • Highly numerate and analytical
  • Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail
  • Excellent budgetary and forecasting skills
  • A self-starter, highly motivated and innovative, with energy and initiative
  • The successful candidate will be a well-organised forward thinker with strong commercial skills.
  • A flexible approach and positive attitude

Package:

  • Hybrid - South West London
  • £65,000 + DOE
  • Plus bonus
