Job Details
Our client is a leading Africa and safari specialist who are quickly growing as an operator and are currently seeking a Senior Africa Specialist. They promote responsible tourism.
They are looking for a well-established Africa travel specialist with a minimum of 3 years’ experience working for a tour operator selling trips and safaris to Africa. You will have a proven record of consistent sales and a high level of customer service.
You will have the opportunity to expand your travel industry experience beyond just sales and freedom to explore and help out with other areas of the business. This can include involvement with marketing, PR and website photography.
As well as having sold these African destinations, you should also have travelled first hand to Africa and have an up to date knowledge of their various hotels, lodges, safari camps and attractions.
You must also have a genuine passion for the country and be able to demonstrate a strong interest and knowledge of their current affairs, environment, culture and wildlife.
Communication and organisational skills must be to a high level, as well as having a good understanding of MS packages. A knowledge of Amadeus would be desirable.
Enthusiasm, a conscientious personality and cooperativeness will make you a successful candidate in this role.
Being able to express your ideas in writing would be an advantage as there is an opportunity to contribute your skills and ideas to articles and guidebooks.
Once you conquer the company’s systems and proved yourself within sales etc, you they have the ability and option to take over the management of one of their country programmes.
Depending on experience you will be offered a base salary of between £30,000-£36,000 plus bonuses.
