Job Details

The Specialist Travel Consultant is responsible for servicing and supporting customers globally with groups, meetings, and event enquiries.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Daily responsibilities of this role will include creating new group travel bookings and supporting all post-confirmation enquiries, such as changes and cancelations, while also maintaining an exceptional level of customer service.

  • Looking after customer travel needs from first enquiry to travel completed, by phone or email.
  • Utilising outbound calling, up-selling and cross-selling, along with other techniques, to maximise revenue, using a consultative sale approach.
  • Focusing on group flight and hotel bookings
  • Partnering with Destination Management Companies and event providers to offer additional products globally.
  • Providing a professional consultancy service for all clients, anticipating their needs, and offering a range of value-added solutions to exceed their expectations.
  • Building relationships with and working alongside internal partners such as Product, Finance, and Commercial.
  • Achieving and maintaining SLAs and targets whilst working efficiently
  • Regularly checking and actioning airline queue messages and monitor existing bookings that are on hold.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

The ideal travel consultant will have previous business travel industry experience, with knowledge of GDS as a must. Knowledge of group travel booking tools and/or venue finding tools. Have excellent fares knowledge including post ticketing changes, cancellations and be able to check and action airline queue messages as well as monitor existing bookings that are on hold. You will be active, supportive, and a flexible team member that will contribute to the team performance, support, and maintain a positive work environment.

THE PACKAGE:

With a salary of £24k and the ability to work from home. Hours: 39.36, standard shift Mon-Fri, 8.45am-5.30pm inc. 1 in 6 rota basis 10.30am-7.15pm (Mon-Friday) and 9am -1pm on Saturday. The client will except part time roles with a minimum of 20 hours. Additional benefits to be discussed at interview!
