Nestled in the picturesque village of Temple Sowerby, The Kings Arms stands as the centre of this beautiful community. We're looking for a vibrant management couple to lead our friendly team and further solidify our position as the heart of Temple Sowerby.

Positions: Management Couple - General Manager (Front-of-House) and Chef

Our Vision:

What We Need:

  • Mastery of exceptional guest service and the ability to inspire and empower your team.
  • Company requirements include background knowledge of pub operations, understanding stock levels, maintaining service standards, and team management.
  • Drive, ambition, and a highly visible 'face of the business' presence.
  • Full financial responsibility for the hotel and pub, including a hands-on approach to various aspects of the business.
  • Proven experience developing and motivating a team, focusing on marketing and generating business.
  • A genuine passion for food and a commitment to locally sourced products.
  • We are looking for an ambitious, standards-driven couple.
  • Strong motivational skills, attention to detail and a welcoming personality are required.
  • Understanding of software systems.
  • Financial literacy.

Accommodation:

  • Your home will be a spacious two-bedroom apartment at The Kings Arms, ensuring your seamless integration into the heart of the village. 
  • Bills are included in the package.

Requirements:

  • 2/3 years of hands-on experience running a pub/hotel, ideally with kitchen experience.
  • Navigate the pub's seasonality, being hands-on throughout quieter periods and the bustling summer months.
  • Personality and passion are paramount; we're flexible on experience if we see a genuine desire and aptitude.
  • Capability to put your stamp on the pub with the owner's support and guidance.

For Chef

  • Curate a standout menu with a focus on locally sourced products.
  • Manage kitchen operations with a hands-on approach 
  • Lead and inspire the kitchen team, ensuring the highest culinary standards.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to create memorable dining experiences.
