Amazing opportunity available for a Finance Manager to join an established tour operator with huge growth opportunity. As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the Finance function. The role will focus on the production of meaningful, timely and accurate management information to the Directors, and you will also manage and develop a Finance Assistant within the business. This is 4 or 5 days per week role based in Brighton with hybrid working options.
The Job:
* Play key role in maintaining financial processes and reporting, reporting to Directors.
* Prepare timely monthly management accounts including analysis.
* Prepare annual budget, P+L, cashflow and/or balances sheet forecasts as required.
* Manage foreign currency contracts, supplier payments and fx analysis.
* Complete tax, regulatory and compliance requirements including VAT returns.
* Process monthly payroll and manage company benefits.
* Support month-end and year-end close process, including liaison with auditors.
* Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
* Critically appraise and improve business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls to find efficiency and value.
* Support Directors/Owners with ad hoc financial modelling and business strategy
Skills Required:
* Proven working experience as a Financial Controller/Manager responsible for the finance function.
* Professional qualifications preferable but not necessary
* Travel and tourism sector experience an advantage but also not necessary.
* Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
* Experience with month-end and consolidation processes
* Experience with Sage software
* Strong analytical and numerical skills including the ability to tell the story behind the numbers and make complex data simple.
* Strong communication skills including an ability to work alongside colleagues from different backgrounds and teams.
* Strong technical capabilities with a highly analytical mindset and a natural inclination to take ownership of projects, processes, and workflow.
* An inquisitive mind who likes problem-solving.

* Basic salary of £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience
