Job purpose
Situ is seeking an energetic and highly skilled Business Development and Marketing Director to lead our company's growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing strategic business plans, driving new sales growth, and implementing effective marketing strategies for established and growing organisations, particularly into new and developing markets. This key member of our senior leadership team will play a pivotal role in expanding our market presence, identifying new business opportunities, and nurturing relationships with clients and partners.
Key responsibilities and duties
 
•    Strategic Planning
→ Develop and execute comprehensive business development plans aligned with company objectives
→ Identify new market opportunities, trends, and innovative strategies to drive business growth
→ Collaborate with the executive team to define short and long-term goals, budgets, and strategies
 
•    Business Expansion
→ Lead the acquisition of new clients, partnerships, and business opportunities
→ Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and industry influencers
→ Explore and implement strategies to penetrate new markets and expand the company's footprint
→ Be a face of Situ at industry events and sector networking
 
•    Sales and Revenue Generation
→ Drive revenue growth by implementing effective sales strategies and tactics
→ Set sales targets, develop sales forecasts, and monitor performance metrics
→ Lead the business development team to identify opportunities, develop strong and sustainable pipeline, negotiate deals, and close contracts
 
•    Marketing Strategy and Brand Development
→ Develop and oversee the implementation of marketing plans to promote Situ’s products/services, creating a marketing strategy that aligns with the sales strategy
→ Oversee marketing campaigns across various channels (digital, traditional, social media, etc.)
→ Continue to enhance brand awareness and positioning through strategic marketing initiatives
→ Ensure effective event management (external and Situ hosted events)
 
•    Team Leadership and Collaboration
→ Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing business development and marketing team
→ Foster a collaborative work environment and ensure effective cross-departmental communication
→ Provide guidance, support, and training to team members to achieve their goals
→ Be a proactive and collaborative member of the senior leadership team, supporting the board with the growth and direction of the business
 
•    Analysis and Reporting
→ Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and performance evaluations to identify areas for improvement
→ Prepare regular reports and presentations on business development, sales, and marketing metrics for the business, senior management team and the board
 
Skill requirements
→ Proven experience in a senior business development or marketing role, preferably within the serviced accommodation sector but not compulsory
→ Demonstrated success in driving business growth, setting and achieving individual and team sales targets, and developing strategic partnerships
→ Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing and inspiring domestic and cross-border teams to achieve objectives in line with company goals
→ Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
→ In-depth knowledge of market trends, competitor analysis, and marketing strategies
→ Ability to lead and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
