We’re looking for a travel industry, senior sales professional, to join an award-winning, leisure and business travel organisation in Worcestershire as Head of Sales.

The Head of Sales will be responsible for all the development, implementation and achievement of our client’s Commercial strategies and plans and the key focus of this role is to drive a sales culture through the business, implementing a sales plan for each of the business units and ensuring the sales KPIs are exceeded. They will work with the Managing Director on securing new strategic relationships to drive the business forward.

The successful candidate will have a proven sales managerial track record within the travel sector and will have a passion for driving sales through both push and pull activities, experience in managing all aspects and teams and strong leadership qualities.

In return, our client can offer a highly competitive salary, plus company bonus scheme and other industry benefits. The role will be hybrid, with the expectation to regularly travel to London.

Role of Head of Sales:

  • Leading the sales teams to drive new business opportunities and maximising existing relationships.
  • Working with the Managing Director to create the overall sales plan for the company including the growth goals and monthly KPIs.
  • Responsible for the creation and delivery of the overall sales plan.
  • Overall responsibility for the Sales and customer service team.
  • Understands and contributes to the overall budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Have a specific focus on driving relationships with London partners, including attending UK Inbound London networking events.
  • Oversees all managers within the sales team providing direction & supporting them with strategic objectives.
  • Ensures that engagement with partners / suppliers is positive and delivers benefits to both organisations.
  • Acts as senior escalation point for customer service, dealing with issues unable to be resolved by the Operations Manager.
  • Provides information gathered from sources including marketing campaigns, industry analysis, competitive analysis and client and supplier feedback.
  • Proactively generates qualified client opportunities.
  • Liaises with the Operations team to ensure service levels are maintained, directing and guiding on best practice and assists with sales training where necessary.
  • Identifies and presents new strategic business opportunities.

Skills required for the role:

  • Significant experience gained within a similar sales management role within the travel sector.
  • Proven commercial skills, with significant experience of negotiating and managing large and complex contracts.
  • Experience in account management and building a client base.
  • Experience with problem solving and customer complaints.
  • Sales & negotiation.
  • Excellent written & verbal communicator at all levels.
  • Confident presentation skills.
  • Consummate communication skills with good stakeholder management.
  • Ability to analyse data and make strategic.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
