Job Details

Contract Managers are responsible for building, nurturing, and maintaining partnerships with key suppliers for the Group. The primary focus of the role is of a commercial nature, with focus on the supplier relationships that fulfil the growth strategy for each brand in the Group. Contract managers will work closely with the Head of Contacting, as well as internal stakeholders, advising and helping to shape the purchasing remit for each destination in their portfolio. The Contract Manager will manage all aspects of contracting for their nominated contracting destinations/hotels, as driven by the brand led contracting remits.

Experience is essential we are looking for someone who currently or previously has been a buyer within the travel industry sector.

This is a full time role based in our Larkfield (Kent) offices. Normal hours of work are Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct responsibility for all relevant contracting and buying activities for agreed regions, hotels and attractions
  • Acts as one of the Group’s ambassadors within the tourism industry
  • Builds, develops and maintains relationships with new and existing suppliers
  • Secures contracts in line with the purchasing directive for each brand, in the designated geographic regions
  • Develops itineraries and bespoke experiences suitable for the UK coaching market
  • Takes overall ownership and responsibility for providing the supplier related information necessary for all commercial teams to effectively market and sell any given hotel in the purchasing remit.
  • Works in line with our marketing department to meet promotional deadlines
  • Attendance at key industry events, workshops and networking opportunities
  • Supports the delivery of the financial results for the division along with senior colleagues

Key Skills & Mind-Set

  • A proven track record in working with hotels and attractions that includes relationship building, successful negotiation and troubleshooting in a broad range of categories and destinations.
  • A high degree of commercial and strategic awareness
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a highly skilled communicator with experience in dealing with people at all levels and cultures
  • Well-travelled, with knowledge of European and UK core contracting areas desirable
  • Foreign Languages (German/French a preference) and existing supplier contacts
  • A current driving licence with the ability and knowledge to travel extensively to designated contracting destinations
  • Experience within the UK coaching market
  • Proven track record buying for group travel in both B2B and B2C travel sectors
  • A high degree of initiative, independence and organisational skills combined with a commitment to excellence at every level
