My client is a leading travel agency specializing in bespoke travel experiences. They pride themselves on curating unique, tailor-made itineraries that inspire and delight their clients. With a supportive and friendly team (including an office dog!), they are based in the vibrant Clapham area and are dedicated to helping their clients explore the world with unforgettable journeys.
The Role
As a Japan Specialist, you'll design and deliver customized travel itineraries for clients eager to explore the beauty, culture, and history of Japan. Whether it's group travel or bespoke FIT (Free Independent Traveler) itineraries, you'll use your expertise to craft immersive experiences that exceed expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to understand their travel preferences, interests, and budgets.
- Design and coordinate personalized itineraries for groups and FIT clients, including flights, accommodations, tours, and activities.
- Provide expert advice on Japanese destinations, cultural nuances, and travel logistics.
- Stay updated on the latest travel trends, events, and updates in Japan.
- Work with local partners and suppliers to ensure seamless trip execution.
- Handle bookings, payments, and customer inquiries with professionalism and attention to detail.
- Collaborate with the team to develop new travel packages and offerings.
About You
- Passion for Japan: A deep love and knowledge of Japanese culture, geography, history, and travel hotspots.
- Travel Expertise: First-hand travel experience in Japan is ideal but not essential.
- Customer Focused: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a knack for understanding client needs.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage complex itineraries.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in using booking systems, travel platforms, and office software.
- Experience: Open to candidates with or without previous travel consulting experience - we'll provide training for the right person!
What We Offer
- Salary: £25k-35 per year (DOE), plus a performance-based bonus of £2,000-£5,000.
- Schedule: Full-time, 5 days a week (after probation, will be Hybrid, 3 months) , based in our friendly Clapham office.
